What is the Church Electoral Roll?
The church’s Electoral Roll is the register of its voting members; it is a list of those qualified to attend and to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting.
2019 Preparation of a new Electoral Roll: Every sixth year, instead of a revision, a completely new Roll has to be prepared.
This is necessary in 2019 and as such we are preparing a new Roll. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to complete the form above and email a scanned copy in to us so we can add you to our roll.
If you would like to be added to our GDPR list so we can contact you in future, please also state that in your email to st-katharines@savernaketeam.com
Its important to be a member of the Electoral roll as it not only enables you to vote on or be elected to positions on the PCC and other church offices. It can provide an indication of the real membership and strength of the church. To be added to our Electoral Roll please just complete the form below and email it to st-katharines@savernaketeam.com
The more formal information: The Church Electoral Roll must be accurately kept and ours in maintained by Julianne Smith. To achieve accuracy the roll is revised annually, and the new Roll is reported at the APCM. The Roll is used to determine eligibility for attendance and participation at the annual parochial church meeting and for election to the parochial church council. It is also used to determine eligibility for election to the deanery, diocesan and general synods. In addition, it is used for the calculation of the number of representatives who may be elected to each of these synods in the following year.
Why do we want you to complete a form?
- Being a member of the electoral roll gives you the opportunity to have your say. This will include giving you a vote at the APCM. You are not on the electoral roll unless you complete a form.
- It allows us to maintain our records accurately.
- The number of people on the roll makes no difference to the amount the Parish pays the Diocese.
